Why Take Our Course?
When it comes to orthopedic management of injuries, the cervical spine is a complex region of the body. With our Orthopedic Management of the Cervical Spine course, you will feel confident and competent in all aspects of managing patient with neck pain. We incorporate a thorough review of the biomechanics of the spine prior to moving onto differential diagnosis, examination and treatment. To simplify the clinical reasoning process, we utilize various methods of classification for examination and treatment: Sahrmann's Movement Impairment Syndromes, Repeated Motions, and the APTA's Treatment Based Classification System.
The Orthopedic Management of the Cervical Spine includes the HIGHEST levels of evidence plus our individual expertise helping patients with both acute and chronic neck pain return to full activity.Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPTs) who have also earned their Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (OCS) and Fellowship in Manual Therapy (FAAOMPT) comprise only ~1% of all Physical Therapists across the United States. Your course authors have been trained in all of these areas, and they have completed additional coursework in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Dry Needling, and other integrative medicine courses. Both Dr. Jim Heafner and Dr. Chris Fox completed credentialed Orthopedic Residency programs with a heavy emphasis on clinical mentorship. Their academic and clinical backgrounds make them experts in managing cervical spine patients.
